About Al‑Ihsaan Foundation

Al-Ihsaan Foundation is a Kenyan non-profit organization committed to providing targeted support, promoting sustainable development, and fostering a culture of compassion, resilience, and inclusivity.

Our journey traces back to late 2019, when we began as Muamalat Group for Orphan Support, an initiative established to respond to the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children. Over time, as the needs of communities evolved and our vision expanded, the organization formally transitioned into Al-Ihsaan Foundation, broadening its reach and strengthening its focus on sustainable community development, humanitarian support, and inclusive social transformation.

Our name, Al-Ihsaan, reflects our commitment to excellence, compassion, and the advancement of human dignity. We believe that meaningful development is not only about responding to immediate needs, but also about empowering individuals and communities with the knowledge, skills, opportunities, and support necessary to build resilient and sustainable futures.

Our work primarily focuses on opportunity youth aged 18 to 35 years, both male and female, who represent a significant force for positive change within their communities. We also support children in the post-adolescent stage and engage the wider community as beneficiaries and partners in development.

Through our two core pillars — Community Development and Humanitarian Support — we implement initiatives that respond to immediate vulnerabilities while contributing to long-term social, economic, environmental, and community resilience

Sustainable Education and Forthgiving

We promote access to knowledge, skills, opportunities, and transformative learning that enable individuals and communities to improve their well-being and create sustainable pathways for the future. We believe education is a powerful tool for empowerment, while the spirit of giving and compassion strengthens communities and promotes shared responsibility.

Social Cohesion & Community Integration

We work to promote understanding, inclusion, dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and meaningful participation within communities. Through engagement and community-based approaches, we seek to strengthen relationships, bridge social divides, and foster communities where diversity is respected and every individual has the opportunity to participate and belong.

Climate Resilience

We recognize that climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable communities. Our work seeks to promote awareness, community resilience, environmental responsibility, and inclusive approaches to climate action. We support communities to understand climate-related challenges and participate in developing solutions that protect both people and the environment.
